Abstract: The biocompatibility and stability of novel biodegradable “heavier than water” vitreous substitutes (Alchimia Srl, Italy) were investigated in the rabbit model. The pilot study indicated that biodegradable neo-PFCL might potentially become part of the vitreous surgery armamentarium.
