What is RS-OIL?

RS-OIL is highly purified silicone oil (100% pure polydimethylsiloxane), 1.000 cSt, 1.300 cSt, 2.000 cSt, 5.000 cSt or 5.700 cSt, sterile and apyrogenic, intended for long-term replacement of the vitreous humour extracted during vitreoretinal surgery. The product warrants a stable tamponade over time and reduced incidence of complications.

The syringe barrel, including the Luer Lock connection, is made of an unbreakable polymeric material (COC). This guarantees reliability and safety during the injection as the syringe does not break and the Luer Lock connection does not come off.

The use experience indicated a low incidence of emulsion with consequent absence of inflammation.

RS-OIL is packaged in vial and syringe to meet the surgeon’s needs.

RS-OIL is a product tested for cytotoxicity on ARPE-19 and BALB 3T3 cells, whose results are shown on the confirmation of use labels inside the package for a correct information to the surgeon and an increased safety for the patient.
